What is the best time of the year to replace the windows of a Seattle home?

Nineteen days ago my friend in Beacon Hill, Seattle, replaced 30 wood windows and 6 doors because of issues with leaking, fogging, and letting too much heat in during the warmer months, telling me he was not prepared to wait until the weather turned. It was the perfect time of the year, according to him. He installed a set of our Custom Specialty Windows with Fibrex Framing to provide a solution to the solar heat issue. We also installed 6 of our Two Panel Double Open Patio Doors, providing a complete, custom look that exactly matched the desired look of the homeowner. Near 170th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98006

The window company he chose in North Kansas City has been in business since 1986 . They has served more than 39,000 customers in the KC metro area in that time. Whether you're building a new home, or are remodeling your current home, my friend was told they can install anything you need from replacement windows, vinyl windows, entry doors or vinyl siding. . From Olathe to Gladstone, and Overland Park to Lees Summit, customers apeared to be always satisfied, and usually come back the next time they need installation of windows, doors or siding. Not only are we Kansas City's only Andersen Certified Installer company, but we are also KC's only Circle of Excellence showroom. We showcase the best windows and patio doors that Andersen offers. But we also care many other brands of replacement windows, entry doors, storm doors, and exterior siding products.

Finally, there’s what’s contractors call the “movement of the substrate.” Some materials—particularly vinyl and aluminum—expand in warm weather and contract in the cold. If you or your contractor caulk your windows when the weather is too cold, the caulk could crack and split when the materials eventually contract as a result of temperature drop.

Comment: We have some water damage in 4 different places in our house all next to windows and one door. The water damage next to the windows basically usually looks like the wall has bubbles of water (when I touch it, it is slightly damp but not wet). The damage next to the door is visible on the hardwood floor (once again it's not wet, but the wood is discolored). We think this is because the doors and windows are not flashed and/or weatherstripped properly thus causing outside water to leak into the walls and the floor. I need someone to come view it to determine what the root cause is and fix it. We can then find people to fix the wall and floor damage separately.

“To everything, there is a season.” The old saying is true, and it goes for replacing windows, too! It makes obvious sense to plan a window replacement project in the spring, when the weather is fair (who wants to make a renovation when it’s freezing out?). But there are some little-known reasons that make winter replacements harder than those performed in the summertime—although not impossible. Here are the best (and worst) times of year to replace your windows, and what you can expect in each season.

Comment: Hi there, I'd like to find out if our condo needs to replace/repair our waterproofing for the windows (flashing or caulking?). We are a 3 story building with about 32 windows. If it's time to replace them, we'd like a quote for performing the work. Thank you! xxxxx

We got a letter from the city back in March telling us our front door doesn't meet "city code".  We went to the big stores and were not at all excited about the selection.  We frequently pass All Weather on our commute so decided to stop in just to see what they had.  They had the usual stuff on the showroom floor, but Doug didn't want to just make a sale.  He genuinely wanted me to be excited about my purchase.  He happily spent a great deal of time with me finding the perfect style and the perfect hardware.  They also had a "virtual catalog"  with more choices that allowed you to really see the door you are considering.  I ended up with an absolutely gorgeous door that couldn't be any more uniquely me. I was not expecting to be so excited about a door, but like I said, I had no idea how much you can really reflect your own personal taste.  Show the world who lives in your house by choosing something that is really unique to you.  Doug and his wife Jolene (who has a great eye for style and spot-on intuition for what YOU are looking for) will walk you through a wonderful experience.  I also like to support local/family businesses. This family will treat you like family.  I like doing business with good people like them.
